How to Manage Uploaded Files

Warning, you must be logged into the media wiki in order for an Upload file item to appear in the toolbox in the left hand side panel.

Microsoft Word Documents

Microsoft Word documents can be exported to mediawiki.txt files, containing mediawiki markup. At least this can be performed from Open Office. It is then just a simple matter of fixing the image and other media links, and uploading the media to the wiki. It only took a few minutes to do this. Boy I wished I had known this when I migrated Reverend_Bruce_Holland_tribute/The_Story_of_Bruce_and_Elaine - I had to type the whole lot and it took hours.

I migrated Final departure VH-NFP from a word document I found from 2013 in about 1.2 an hour (I must of thought of publishing it in the AMPA magazine).
